Constitutional Amendment to
The New England Center for Expository Preaching
Doctrinal Clarification – Human Sexuality

The New England Center for Expository Preaching (NECEP) is a Christian ministry devoted to “expository preaching”; the proclamation the Bible, as it was commonly understood when the passage(s) were written. NECEP believes that the Bible is the Word of God.  It is the single standard from which all doctrinal matter originates.  NECEP therefore does not embrace any opinion as equal to that which God has proclaimed.  For that reason NECEP internships are limited to male seminary students who are seeking to become Bible expository preaching pastors.

The New England Center Board of Directors holds that God created humankind “male and female,” that the only Biblically sound, God honoring, human sexual orientation is exclusively heterosexual. Rejecting as unscriptural and against nature (Gen. 1:26-28, 2:18-24; Mt. 19:4-5; Eph. 5:22-33) the misguided beliefs and practices of those who have exchanged the body’s natural function for that which is unnatural “leading to degrading passions” (Rom. 1:26-27) NECEP holds that homosexual passions and transgender preferences are “indecent acts” are not in accord with any Christian ministry to include the New England Center.

The Bible states that God has already judged those who have given themselves “over to a depraved mind,” specifically that all who embrace homosexuality, among other ungodly behaviors, will not enter the Kingdom of God. (1 Cor. 6:9; Gal. 5:19-21)   Having said that, there is hope for all who will turn from their sin and by faith accept the forgiveness purchased by the Lord Jesus Christ. (1 Cor. 6:9-11)

As a Christian ministry, NECEP opposes as ungodly and unscriptural all attempts to redefine marriage as anything other than the Biblical model of one man and one woman bound together by mutual covenant for life.  Therefore, NECEP opposes same sex marriage, polygamy, or other unbiblical unions of any description because of our fundamental belief in that the Bible is the Word of God, and that such cannot be justified either by sound doctrine or conscious.

For those who may be disposed to unbiblical sexuality, the Board of Directors of NECEP firmly and lovingly exhort that they immediately turn to God in repentance, humbly anticipating His merciful forgiveness and the cessation of such behavior.

And for those who might be consider as potential board members in the future, this amendment is not negotiable. It has to be accepted without personal, mental, or doctrinal hesitation to become a member of the board of directors of the New England Center.
